A field guide · Volume I · The Vesper system
A quiet star called Vesper keeps eight impossible planets: a world of glass, a donut-shaped world, a planet mended with gold. Every coastline, storm and glowing seam is invented — and painted live in your browser.

About this atlas
Each world is drawn by its own procedural shader — continents, gas bands, crystal facets and glowing seams are computed from noise every frame. There are no textures, images or sound files: the star, the sky, the soundscapes and even the thumbnails are generated when the page loads.
Drag to orbit the system and click a world to land. Switch between visible, thermal and elevation scans, and tap numbered markers to visit points of interest.
Line every world up at its true relative size — with Earth for scale — and re-sort them by gravity, temperature, day length or distance.
Design your own planet: pick a type and shape, tune seas, storms and glow, then add it to the atlas or save a postcard.
Built with three.js and the Web Audio API. Type set in Instrument Serif, Inter and JetBrains Mono (SIL Open Font License).
